Your video is very helpful to me, I am reostoring an old stuffed toy embedded bluetooth speaker, the thing has tiny 8ohm 0.25watt toy speaker, but the board is just typical JBL-style board, no wonder the speaker was blow to pieces inside. rofl

I have PB 3000s and while I love them for hip hop, rap and such bass heavy music I've found them too boomy for soft music eg blues, country, R&B. I've tried using them in sealed mode but they still don't give as "tight" bass as an SB 2000 which is my current preference for that type of music. Still sound a bit boomy. I think my ears would prefer having 2 separate systems, sealed and ported, for the 2 kinds of music I listen to. For movies any can do

I have been using the Audyssey pro kit for the past 10 years or so and have not looked back. I like the mic that comes with the kit. You also get a good quality boom stand with the kit. It’s expensive though. On the pro kit after you load the measurements you get a choice of 3 roll offs which are all tied in to the size of your room. I use dynamic volume on low. I use Dynamic eq and keep midrange compensation on.

For those using SVS subs with their app, to set LFE mode touch the settings icon on the upper right, then choose Low Pass Filter, then choose off on the toggle. This puts the sub in LFE mode and defers crossover settings to your AVR/processor. Make sure to do this for both subs if you're running duals.

To be fair to everyone, XLR isn’t as necessary over short runs, if your processor is very close to your amplifiers, odds are you won’t be able to tell any difference at all between RCA and XLR

I would wait on the Emotiva G4 processors or a Anthem AVM90 (on sale @ Audio Advice) or a Marantz AV10.

Yeah, I bought one of these, along with a pair of the Eris 3.5 speakers on my local Facebook for $120 maybe a year ago. I didn't love the 'monitors' so I sold them off but I've got to say, the sub is pretty decent for the price and size. Not overly boomy and I've got them dialed in with a pair of Adam T5V monitors. This system is for evaluating music, but it's in a fairly small bedroom office that's about 10x14. Obviously this isn't a party rig but can play louder than my needs. The speakers were $300 for the pair and I have about $70 in the sub. Even at the current new prices of $400 + $200 I'd say within their volume constraints, they are a very decent choice for someone wanting a fairly neutral small system. These last couple months, I've actually had a pair of the Swan OS-10 speakers in that system. Much smaller and obviously the tweeters don't compare to the ribbons in the Adams but still not bad... not bad. I'd say if you had something like the OS-10s (very decent quality, but only a 4" woofer) adding a sub where you can filter out the bass from the signal from those speakers is going to make a tremendous difference vs just running them full range.

In 3 way and above speakers in the crossover there is also a bandpass filter/crossover for the middle speaker.

so I have a 2023 q7 prestige. They've moved to having B&O as the standard factory "premium audio" option. its the equivalent to the bose from the 2018 before stepping up to the B&O advanced with the rising tweeters(2021-2023 don't even have this as an option in USA but the 2025 can be optioned with it). ts still a 19 speaker system running the same speaker locations but its now bumped up to 755 watts. I'd say based off what you said about the bose this system is much much brighter. I have the tremble about one click past halfway. I think the extra juice also helps a lot with that sub in the back because it truly scales up with the music almost till max volume and I have it set to its max setting. No nasty sounds from it at all. I think you should check that system out and compare it to this one. Im curious whether they are using the same components or what the actually differences are between the two systems.
